Horizons is a high-rise residential development overlooking a beautiful downtown water park. This striking mixed-use site is made up of 194 condominiums and 13,400 sf of retail space. The layout is presented as two spectacular towers each containing 24 stories that are complimented by eight 2-story town homes and nine condominiums located above street level commercial space. A three-story parking structure is conveniently located underground. Challenging and unique system designs were created to acquire harmony and soundproofing throughout the structure. Contributing to the cityscape are visual openings towards the immense, lush landscape of the inner courtyard.
DESIGN FEATURES
- Central plant water source heat pump towers are isolated on a cushion of air using pneumatic isolators to eliminate structural vibrations
- Sophisticated smoke controls and stairwell pressurization provide safety to the occupants
- Sound sensitive mechanical and plumbing system designs promote quality atmospheres to the living environments
- Revolutionary in-slab duct systems allow for maximum ceiling heights and limit soffiting
